COTA expo 1Last week, Tanya & Paula from our Kadina office participated at the COTA community information session at the Kadina Town Hall. It was an opportunity for people to find out more information of the aged care system, My Aged Care, aged care providers and services available in your region. There were informative talks and plenty of stalls from various service providers. Despite it being a warm day, it was very successful with plenty of opportunities for us to talk to people from the local region.

Change of boardAt the AGM this year Margaret Manuel stepped down as Chairman after seven years in this role. Margaret Zweck was appointed as the new Chairman of Country Home Services. Margaret Zweck, who lives in Clare, joined the Board in December 2012 and has been appointed as Chairman of Country Home Services.
Margaret Zweck stated: “I would like to thank the Board of Directors for electing me as Chairman, following the tremendous and successful leadership of previous Chairman, Margaret Manual.  I feel privileged to take on this responsibility and look forward to ensuring that the good governance of the past continues and our services and business thrive in the competitive world of care to people.”
“Country Home Services is an incredible asset in our rural areas.  It will continue to be so due to you, our community, and the dedicated staff and contractors assisting people to remain in their homes with support and comfort. Your commitment and enthusiasm to our organisation is greatly appreciated.’
“I wish everyone, staff, contractors, clients and carers all the joys of the Christmas Season and Best of Wishes for a rewarding 2018.”

Pt Vincent Fellowship for the web

Recently we visited the beautiful Port Vincent Community on the Yorke Peninsula to give one of our Valley to Coast presentations to the Port Vincent Fellowship. These presentations allow people to gain a better understanding about Aged Care services and how we can support them at home. As with every presentation, our presenter opens the floor to questions and on this day we received questions that related to self-funded retirees and their access to services, cost for services, the impact of My Aged Care and its effectiveness, and our ability to provide the services they need in their rural communities. These questions bought about a fabulous discussion that gave the attendees much insight and knowledge about what we can offer to support them.

If you would like answers to these same questions or perhaps you have questions of your own then contact us on 1300 773 202. Also if you are part of a community group within our region that would like a presentation then we would love to come out and visit you. Call us to make a time today or visit our Presentations Page for more information.

Ian and Ashley 1At Country Home Services, one of the most important things to us is reconnecting people back to what they love doing in life. Some times due illness or perhaps for some reason we have lost our confidence, we may decide to pull away from the activities we love. It is here that Country Home Services can really help. Our staff are passionate about finding a way to reconnect people to what they love doing, and when we are doing what we love, life begins to be a little more joyful.
